New for 2022, Apogee Instruments' DLI-600 is a sleek, easy-to-use device for spot measurement of photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) outside the traditional 400-700 nm range. The DLI-600 measures the newly defined ePAR 400-750 nm radiation range, which has been shown to have extended photosynthetically active properties. In addition to measuring ePAR, the DLI-600 also measures daily light integral (DLI) and photoperiod. DLI is the total amount of PAR or ePAR hitting the plane within 24 hours, expressed in moles per square meter per day (mol m-2 d-1). Photoperiod is the total time that PAR or ePAR hits the plane within 24 hours and is measured in hours (h). ePAR, DLI and photoperiod affect plant growth and development and are often measured in greenhouses and growth chambers to help with lighting control and decision making.
