Smart CO2 is a natural, safe and cost-effective method of producing CO2 (carbon dioxide) for the needs of intensively grown crops.
Once you have correctly hung Smart CO2 over the plant, no maintenance is required!

Plants use a process called photosynthesis, which converts water, sunlight, sugar and CO2 into vital nutrients.
With more CO2 in the air, plants are more active and efficient at absorbing it. Faster CO2 conversion leads to faster and more intense plant growth.
Plants absorb CO2 through small pores on the underside of leaves called stomata. When CO2 levels are higher, plants don't have to open these pores as often or as wide, resulting in less water loss and a lower chance of absorbing harmful substances.
How does Smart CO2 work?
It contains mycelia (fungi) and enough organic substrate for at least 4 months. Mycelia work in the opposite way to the plant, breathing in oxygen and breathing out carbon dioxide, 24 hours a day through a ventilated opening in the bag. This creates a natural, self-sufficient and cost-effective system with no CO2 smell. The Smart CO2 bag does not generate heat and only produces CO2 when activated (pierced). Simply hang it up and the bag will do its job!
How to use the Smart CO2 Bag
After purchasing, you will need to make some holes in the top of the bag and hang it over the plant growth area, just above the top of the plant. We recommend one CO2 bag per 1.2m x 1.2m area (5-15m2). Since CO2 is heavier than oxygen, it will fall down on the plants. Once hung at the desired height, you will not need to make any adjustments or refills of the bag. Do not hang the bag near lights or other heat sources. After about 3 months of CO2 production, production will decrease and the bag will need to be replaced with a new one.
Good to know
The Smart CO2 bag is brown at first and gradually turns white. This is completely normal and is caused by the development of the mycelia. The bag will also swell up, also a normal condition. The bag will work immediately after you make holes in it.
