Unlike commonly available PH regulators on the market, PH Down is not an ordinary acid. It is a precise composition of elements that regulate and supply the nutrient levels while dampening the nutrient solution. Along with a balanced acid mix, we have added buffers that serve to stabilize the pH and regulate the calcium levels in hard water. Our pH regulation solution has proven itself in our greenhouses and allows plants to be grown for several weeks without having to adjust the pH.

Along with a balanced blend of acids, we have added buffers that serve to stabilize the pH and control the calcium levels in hard water. As growers, we always have a list of wishes that would make our lives easier if fulfilled. At the top of the list is a pH buffer that works so well that we could go on vacation for two weeks and when we return, the pH of the nutrient solution would still be the same. The problem with this is that this is only possible when the nutrient solution is weak, there is little activity in the solution and your plants are growing at an average pace. When growth is fast and many ions are removed and complex interactions are taking place in the solution, such stability is unthinkable. But today we are no longer at a loss. Today we can achieve satisfactory stability while providing other benefits. A solution with good pH management is one where you only adjust the pH once, when the system starts up. We do not claim that we have achieved exactly that, and not in every situation and with every nutrient. But as far as pH management goes, we have tried in our greenhouses with the use of pH Down in combination with Flora Series and Mineral Magic, the plants were able to grow for a few weeks without the need for pH adjustment.
